Alberto Fuentes, Deputy Director of the National Police Archives (pictured at the main entrance to the administration building), gave me a personal tour of the Archives.
Entrance to the area of the complex that still contains documents as they were found, jumbled ceiling-high, and having suffered water & mildew damage and the depredations of rats and bats.

Human rights activist Julio Solorzano Foppa and his sister Silvia before the NUREMBERG premiere. Their mother, Alaida Foppa, and their two brothers were killed by Guatemala's military regime.
The NUREMBERG audience for the premiere screening at the Teatro Nacional numbered 2000 people. I couldn't believe it — the place was full!
Backstage at the Teatro Nacional: (left to right) Julio Solorzano; Sandra Schulberg; Elsa Son, Viceministra de Cultura; Ramón Cadena, Director de la Comisión Internacional de Juristas (CIJ); and Edgar Barillas of the cinema producers association, AGACINE
The audience consisted of approximately 100 high school students, plus teachers, other interested townspeople and clergy, and members of Rigoberta Menchu's staff.
Each marker lists the names of the deceased and states: "Los responsables de esta masacre fueron el Ejercito de Guatemala y los Patrulleros Autodefensa Civil de Rabinal, y los Responsables gozan de libertad."
